10 Years of Maatkasten Online: 10 Unforgettable Milestones
10 years of Maatkasten Online. That feels a bit surreal 😄
What started in a small shared worshop has today grown into something we could only dream of back then. A strong team, multiple productions, a shop in Antwerp, surveyors on the road, and a head office that has since burst at the seams.
But also: a lot of cabinets that have since found a place in people's homes.
We would like to take you briefly through the years.
1. The beginning: the very first cupboard
The first order, the first cabinet. And yes, that actually called for a little happy dance 😄
Back then, there were just two of us (we call it a team starting from two, right?). What might seem self-evident today was pure enthusiasm back then: designing a cabinet, putting it into production immediately, and delivering it five days later. We can't keep up that pace anymore today (and that is actually a good sign 😉). Even though our machinery has grown several times over in the meantime, demand - and your enthusiasm - just keeps growing.
2. A new warehouse
It soon became clear that that shared warehouse in Knokke would not suffice. So, in 2018, we moved to Maldegem. What felt like a gigantic warehouse at the time… soon turned out to be too small again.
Expanding, expanding again – and eventually even a second production in Hoogstraten in 2025. More space, more capacity, and above all: even more cabinets finding their way to their place 😄.
3. The 10th employee
Today, a large team stands behind everything we do, but once we celebrated our 10th employee – and back then, that really felt like a milestone.
What makes it extra special is that many people from the very beginning are still with us today. Their roles may have changed over the years, but the desire to give it their all every day is exactly the same.

4. The 10,000th cabinet
Without really realizing it, the 10,000th cabinet rolled off the production line! And yet, it is a number worth pausing to reflect on, because that means 10,000 cabinets found a place somewhere in someone's home.
We are so incredibly grateful that so many people trusted us for their custom project! And here's to at least as many more cabinets that fit!
5. A new website
In 2023, it was time for the next step: a completely new website. Not just a fresh look, but above all a big leap forward in how you can design your own wardrobe.
The design tool became even more realistic, and from then on, the possibilities followed one another at a rapid pace. Because continuous improvement is simply in our DNA.
6. The 10th type of cupboard: the laundry cupboard
With all those new possibilities came new types of cabinets. One of them quickly grew into a favorite: the washing machine cabinet .
A smart solution that allows you to place your washing machine and dryer at a comfortable height while simultaneously creating extra storage space. A typical example of something that really makes your space easier to manage.
7. Store number one
In 2025, we were able to make a big announcement: Maatkasten Online went offline! Our first store was a reality!
We opened our first store on Kloosterstraat in Antwerp, a place where you as a customer can find inspiration, view materials, and receive personal advice on designing your cabinet.
The online story remains the foundation, but in the store it gets just that little bit of extra experience.
8. The 10th measurement expert on the track
Our team on the road kept growing as well. A few months ago, our 10th expert headed out… this time to the Netherlands. Hey Kai 👋
With this step, we’re going beyond borders and helping even more people bring their projects to life. Always with the same goal: making sure every cabinet fits exactly the way it should, down to the smallest detail.
9. Maatkasten Online Turns 10
Here we are, 10 years of rocking! 💥
The years have flown by, and in the meantime, we have continued doing what we are good at: moving forward. Still, this is one of those moments when we like to look back for a moment. At everything that has already happened, and at what we have built together.
And also simply: to thank you. Because none of these milestones would have happened without your enthusiasm. Your ideas, plans, and eagerness to get started – that is what makes this story real 💙.
10. What's next?
The next milestone is coming sooner than you might think, so we couldn’t leave it out of this list 😉
We can already give away one little thing: a second store is on its way. Where exactly? That will remain a secret for just a little while longer 😄
Let’s just say we’ve been working behind the scenes on something new. Very new.
