Huis Gemaakt winners Eros and Soumaya finish their laundry room
After winning the television programme Huis Gemaakt on VTM and VTMGO, Eros and Soumaya immediately continued. Their dream home received extra attention and finishing touches. Most of the rooms were already complete, including beautiful custom-made cabinets. 😉
But one room still needed attention. The storage room was to be turned into a real laundry room. And they succeeded. Today, it is a place where doing the laundry feels surprisingly pleasant thanks to the washing machine cabinet from Maatkasten Online.
From storage room to smart laundry room
The layout was completely redesigned. Everything was given a clear place. A tall technical cabinet was installed. Ideal for neatly concealing the heat pump and meters. This keeps the space calm and tidy, without any technical equipment in sight.
They also opted for a low laundry cabinet with a handy 36 mm thick worktop. The cabinet for their washer and dryer is perfect for sorting and folding laundry. The low washing machine cabinet also creates an open feeling.
The home becomes complete
The laundry room is accessed via the dining room, which also features a custom storage cupboard. This cupboard combines open compartments with a ceiling cupboard. Practical and airy at the same time. Both cupboards were given the same colour: Natural Sage. This allows the spaces to flow nicely into each other. It creates tranquillity and cohesion in the home.
We were already used to installing cupboards, so installing an entire laundry room should be a piece of cake!
Practical and aesthetically pleasing
The ceiling cabinet was an absolute must. It provided extra storage space. This way, it is not noticeable that there is technical equipment behind the utility cabinet doors. With the custom-made technical cupboard, they neatly concealed everything. This means that the technical storage room is also perfectly integrated into the space. Everything is neatly out of sight, yet easily accessible.
It turned out even better than we had imagined! The worktop is also really easy to fold laundry on.
